Novoflex CASTEL-MICRO is a stepping motor controlled focusing rack for use in a wide variety of applications in the fields of photography, measurement and science.
CASTEL-MICRO is the solution when conventional photographic equipment or internal camera functions reach their limits. It's ideal for focus stacking in macro photography, for example to capture images of insects, minerals and scientific documentation, etc.

The problem is well known: as the magnification factor increases – usually above 2:1 to 50:1 – manual focusing with a focusing rack becomes impossible. In addition, automatic functions, such as the internal camera function of focus bracketing, are no longer of much use.

• The consequence is that photographs with such magnification can only be captured with an enormous amount of effort.
  The solution is the CASTEL-MICRO with its specially designed control unit and four different control modes.
• Step and Picture modes are quick and simple to use. In these modes either the step distance or the number of shots can be specified depending on the magnification factor and the aperture of the lens. The software then automatically calculates the number of shots or the step distance required. In addition, pauses between the shots can be taken into consideration, for example for mirror lockup in SLR cameras.
• Continuous mode is available for special applications in which the sliding block is in constant motion so that there is no need for acceleration and stopping distances and any associated pauses. Exposures are then best done with very fast shutter speeds and/or a flash.
• Bellows mode is designed for use with the optional bellows attachment CASTBAL-PRO. Adjustment at the front or back can be selected. The Bellows mode is not only ideal for macro photography but also for those fields of photography requiring much effort, special cameras and tilt and shift lenses. The BALPRO adapter system enables the use of various cameras and lenses. For example, it is possible to integrate high-quality, mechanical lenses used in specialist cameras into a modern stacking workflow.
  The Bellows mode imitates the software control of the autofocus of a lens in order to produce a stack of images with different focus points of one and the same object. The stack of images is then processed by stacking software to produce an image with an astonishing depth of focus.

The control unit is powered by rechargeable batteries (Canon LP-E6 - not included in the scope of delivery! We recommend the use of original Canon batteries only!) and is thus ideal for outdoor applications and fieldwork. For studio work the control unit can be connected to the mains with the supplied AC-adapter.
The CASTEL-MICRO has a maximum travel distance of 100 mm and its smallest repeatable step distance is 0.2µ! The maximum carrying capacity for vertical assembly is 4 kg.

CASTEL-MICRO can be fully integrated into the Novoflex-Q System with tripods, racks, brackets, etc. for complex set-ups. A camera is attached by means of the Q=MOUNT quick release unit, which is ARCA-compatible and can be offset by 90 ° if required. On the underside of the rail, the focusing rack has the ARCA-compatible dovetail profile over the entire length and can thus be used in compatible coupling units. In addition there are 2 standard 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 threads.

Novoflex Adapter collar mount is a tripod mount and support made specifically for MFT, NIK1, PENTQ and FUX lens mount adapters. The collar clamps around the lens adapter and takes the weight of the lens and adapter off the camera when mounting to a tripod.

The Novoflex ASTAT-NEX Collar Mount with Arca-Type Foot for Select Novoflex Lens Adapters fits around a Novoflex lens adapter in order to provide support for a heavy lens and adapter as they're attached to a smaller camera body. The mounted ring on the lens collar accommodates Canon EOS-M, Sony NEX, and Leica R lens to Leica M camera adapters. For Sony E-Mount lenses, the collar comes with a second insert. Inner diameter: 61.75mm

The tripod collar features both 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads for attaching to a tripod head, and the Arca-compatible bottom allows the collar to be clamped securely by most Arca-Swiss-compatible quick release mechanisms. The Novoflex MagicBalance PRO75 Leveling Ball is a leveling head that tilts 15° in any direction, so you can orient your DSLR camera as you shoot on uneven ground or while using a gimbal head or a panorama system.
It can be counter-sunk directly into the modular tripod shoulder TrioPod PRO75 and can also be used on tripods from other manufacturers with 1/4"-3/8" thread. A twist of the fixing screw enables you to make adjustments using just one hand.

Novoflex Q-Base II is a Arca-Type Compatible Quick Release Clamp and can be used to adapt an Arca-type quick release plate to a tripod head, tripod, stand, or support device. A steel bushing is installed within the center of the clamp so that it can be adapted to a 1/4"-20 mount. The bushing can be removed, allowing direct attachment to tripod heads that feature a 3/8"-16 mount.
Arca-type compatible quick release plates can be attached or removed from the Q-Base II by using its rotating lock lever, which features a safety catch to help prevent a compatible plate from accidentally disconnecting. Also, within the recessed surface between the clamp's jaws is a retaining pin. This pin helps prevent an optional installed Novoflex Q-System quick release plate or another installed Arca-type compatible Q-System component from accidentally sliding off when the safety catch is engaged.

Constructed from aluminum alloy with brass and steel, this clamp is durable while remaining lightweight and includes a built-in bubble level.

Novoflex quick release adapter Q=MOUNT complements the popular automatic Q=BASE quick release system from Novoflex to offer users of digital and analog cameras or camcorders an ideal mounting option for their valuable equipment. Q=MOUNT accepts all Arca-type quick release plates.

The elegant round shape of the Q=MOUNT is a perfect combination of form and function.
The adapter can be used with all conventional tripod heads or other mounting units with a 1/4" or 3/8" stud.

In contrast to the automatic Q=BASE quick release system, Q=MOUNT is a manual quick release system. It has two decisive improvements over other manual systems.
First, a safety pin in conjunction with the interchangeable Novoflex Q=PLATE mounting plates prevents the plates from slipping out in either direction.
Second, the high precision double thread makes mounting extremely fast: a fraction of a turn does the trick, there's no need to turn and turn endlessly.

Novoflex offers a complete system of matching camera plates and L brackets for this quick release adapter. The adapter is also compatible with many other interchangeable Arca-type mounting plates, albeit without the safety pin function (the safety pin can be retracted if necessary).

It's ideal for use with the Novoflex Multi Media Rack system, and can also be used with all conventional tripod heads or other mounting devices with a 1/4" stud. This manual QR adapter has a safety pin (works with Novoflex plates only) that keeps the plates from slipping, as well as a double thread that will tighten the unit securely in a fraction of a turn. The clamp width is 25 mm. A quick release plate is not included with this base.
