Manfrotto HiLite Background Large, 1.5 x 2.15 m. During recent years the popularity of high key portrait photography has increased significantly. By using simple white backgrounds, informal posing arrangements and unusual camera angles, photographers have created a more contemporary look that meets the requirements of many of today’s customers. However, many photographers have found it difficult to achieve this effect when working on location or in a restricted space, as the white background needs to be lit separately from the subject. The HiLite illuminated background offers the solution that photographers have been waiting for. This unique background is effectively backlit allowing the subject to stand as close as 40 cm to the background without casting a shadow! Furthermore this collapsible background can be set up in a matter of minutes and is self supporting, making it ideal for location work. HiLite Background comes in several sizes.

Disclosure of motives

In order to "whiten" a background nicely and evenly, several light sources and a large studio space are usually required so that the background lighting can be placed so that the light spreads evenly over the entire background, without hitting the subject. The Manfrotto HiLite drastically simplifies this type of photography. Even on a small surface and with few light sources, it is possible to get an even, white background with the subject placed close to the background.

Unique construction

Manfrotto HiLite has a unique design and can be compared to a large light box. The background is vivacious, i.e. it can be placed freely onå the floor without a stand. As a light source, a studio flash is used, which is placed so that it shines into the short side of the HiLite and shines out the entire front screen. The location of the flash, next to the HiLite, means that the floor space required is very small.  When the background is not in use, it can be folded completely flat and becomes då only a third of its size.

Perfect in all environments

Thanks to the fact that HiLite can stand by itself without an extra stand, and that the lighting is placed to the side of the background, itself the setup takes up very little space. The subject can be placed very close because the lighting takes place from within the HiLite and is spread very evenly over the large surface.

Manfrotto HiLite Background 1.8 x 2.15 m, size XL. The HiLite backgrounds range allows the photographer to work in a way that was extremely difficult to achieve in the past. With the HiLite the photographer can achieve 'High Key' photography on location and in restrictive spaces. By rear lighting the white background itself there is no longer a need to use a background light behind the subject. Successful result from the first exposure with TTL

Put on the flash and take the picture! The ELC 500 has inspiring TTL automatic that provides correct exposure from the first image. When you have placed the main light and fill flash in the desired position, you can switch to manual mode to put your personal touch on the lighting. The exposure value from the TTL mode is saved when switching to manual flash control, which means that you can easily make personal adjustments. For TTL function, the Transmitter Pro is adapted to the camera brand (Transmitter Pro can be purchased separately).

Balance the light with High Speed Sync (HSS)

Flash photography with ELC is a breeze thanks to the ability to freely change the combination of aperture, ISO number and shutter speed på the camera. Elinchrom Rotalux Deep Octa 70 cm. Rotalux deep octa softboxes have become the most popular shape among Rotalux users. The narrow shaped Deep Octa reduces the spread of light and offers sharper shadows compared to standard sized octagonal softboxes. They provide a very even diffuse light over the front screen and are an excellent crispy and direct light when used without diffusers to give a beauty dish look.

Rotalux Deep Octa 70 cm offers a transportable compact size and a carrying bag. The ELB 400 and ELB 500 TTL heads require the Reflector Adapter // EL-26342.
The light characteristic is similar to the Deep Octa 100 cm. A directed crispy light, when used without the external or internal diffusers.

Now just one Elinchrom speedring to build 11 Rotalux shapes. The blue and red colour marks will indicate and help how to setup square/ recta and strip shaped Rotalux Softboxes. Elinchrom speedrings could be identified by the Elinchrom brand, molded on the speedring.

This speedring is designed specifically to be used with Elinchrom flash heads and Rotalux softboxes, providing a secure and stable attachment point for the softbox.
