B+W Graduated ND Filter 701 as Sheet Filter 100 x 150 x 2 mm. B+W graduated ND filters are used for the darkening of the sky or the foreground. Each half of the filters are coloured neutral gray with a smooth transition into the neutral filter half. Rectangular sheet filters can be rotated by means of a compendium in order to adapt the graduation to the horizon. The glass substrate of the B+W ND filters 701 and 702 is a sanded and finely polished filter disc. This guarantees a long-lasting high optical quality. The ND gradient is specially evaporated by means of thin layer technology. The below values refer to the dark edge area of the filters: 701 +1 f-stop (50 % transmission) Thanks to the glass substrate the filter discs are stable in shape and cannot distort. Compared to plastic material they are more resistant against scratches, break-proofly supplied in a tinplate case.
The graduated ND filters are provided with a high quality MRC coating. MRC (Multi Resistant Coating) coated filters have an MC layer, ensuring a high transmission and a maximum anti-reflective surface. Scattered light is eliminated, leading to brilliant colours and high contrasts. Additionally, MRC is dirt and water repellent and makes cleaning easier.
B+W Graduated ND Filter 701
The neutral gray half of this graduated filter with a transmission of 50 % (1 stop) darkens the relevant motif area by one f-stop without affecting the colour. If, for example, the sky is too bright in relation to the landscape, this is the ideal value for a perfect colouring of the clouds with no fading of the blue sky caused by overexposure.
